HoMedics Massagers Recalled for Fire & Burn Injury Hazard

In January 2024, HoMedics recalled about 46,000 massagers because they can overheat while charging and catch on fire or cause burn injuries.

How Many People Were Burned?

In the U.S., HoMedics said it received 13 reports of the massagers overheating while charging, and 1 report of a person who was burned on their thumb.

Another 41,000 HoMedics Massagers Recalled in Canada

HoMedics also recalled another 41,000 massagers that were sold in Canada. There were 4 reports of overheating in Canada, and no reports of injuries, according to Health Canada.

How To Identify Recalled HoMedics Massagers

The recall involves the Homedics Therapist Select Massagers with model numbers HHP-715 & HHP-715-CA. Only manufacturing dates through the end of 2022 and prior are included in the recall.

They were sold nationwide from September 2020 through November 2023 at Macy’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Lowe’s, JC Penney, The Home Depot, other stores, Amazon.com and other websites for about $100.

What Should I Do?

HoMedics is asking customers to immediately stop using and charging the recalled massagers. HoMedics is offering a full refund, or a refund in the form of a credit for any HoMedics product plus a 20% bonus.
