UPDATE (February 11, 2021) — House-Autry Mills has expanded its recall for tartar sauce after independent tests found elevated levels of yeast in the dill pickle relish ingredient.
January 26, 2021 — House-Autry Mills Inc. recalled certain 9-ounce bottles of House-Autry® Tartar Sauce due to a risk of spoilage.
The company did not report any illnesses. House-Autry said it is waiting for test results from two laboratories to determine what caused the spoilage.
In the meantime, the company said “several factors” might be to blame, including bacteria, light, oxygen, heat, humidity, or temperature.
The recalled tartar sauce was distributed in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio between December 15, 2020 and January 18, 2021.
The recalled products can be identified by UPC: 0 73484-60013 4 and a “Best By” date code of BB 08182021, BB 08232021, BB 09162021, BB 09172021, BB 09182021 or BB 09212021 on the top of the bottle.
