Hover-1 Dynamo E-Scooters Recalled for Brake Failure Risk
In July 2024, DGL Group announced a recall for about 4,200 Hover-1 Dynamo E-Scooters that were sold exclusively on Walmart.com.
What is the Problem?
The problem is that the e-scooter’s brakes can fail, which poses a crash hazard and a risk of serious injury or death to riders.
How Many People Were Injured?
DGL Group said it received 22 reports of the e-scooter’s brakes failing, which resulted in 7 injuries. Some of the reported injuries included:
- Scrapes (abrasions)
- Bruises (contusions)
- Dislocated shoulder
- Fractured teeth
- Cuts (lacerations)
- Strains
When Were They Sold?
The recalled Hover-1 Dynamo E-Scooters were sold exclusively online at www.walmart.com from November 2021 through July 2022 for about $200. DGL Group is offering a full refund to customers who submit photos of their e-scooter’s serial number and cut motor cable.
