Nattork Pressure Cooker Explosion Burns Woman in Colorado
The woman, Melissa L., says her Nattork® Electric Pressure Cooker exploded like a bomb in her kitchen. She had just finished cooking a roast beef dinner and went to remove the lid.
She told Fox31 Denver:
“I opened the lid and it was just like a bomb went off. Water was shooting everywhere. I was in so much pain, I was screaming.”
Her 4 year-old son was standing behind her when the pressure cooker exploded, but she was able to move him out of harm’s way.
Unfortunately, Melissa suffered 2nd-degree burns and required skin-graft surgery. She will need more skin grafting in the next few weeks.
It is unclear how Melissa was able to open the lid on the pressure cooker while it still contained a dangerous amount of pressure in the pot. In recent years, a growing number of lawsuits have been filed against manufacturers of defective pressure cookers that were advertised as having “safety features” that prevent horrific explosions.
