50,000 Rhino Tree Stands Recalled for Fall Hazard
In December 2023, FeraDyne Outdoors recalled about 50,000 Rhino Tree Stands because the safety harnesses can rip.
What Happened?
No injuries were reported, but hunters can fall to the ground and suffer serious injuries or death if their safety harness rips.
According to the recall: “Testing determined the safety harness does not comply with voluntary industry safety standard, ASTM F2337-21, and the stitching can rip, posing a fall hazard to the user.”
How To Identify Recalled Tree Stands
The recall involves tree stand Safety Harness with model numbers RTH-2000S and RTH-2001S.
These safety harnesses were sold in the box with Rhino Tree Stands /Ladder Stands that have model numbers: RTH-100, RTH-200, RTL-100, RTL-200, RTL-300, RTL-400, RTL-1000, RTL-3000 and RTL-4000.
These products include hang-on tree stands, hang-on stands with shooting rails, and ladder stands in 16-ft., 17.5-ft., 18-ft. and 22-ft. heights.
Only safety harnesses with orange stitching on the white tether strap are being recalled. The recalled safety harnesses have black cloth strips with a white cloth tether stitched together with orange thread.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled tree stands were sold nationwide from February 2021 through December 2022 at Dick’s Merchandising & Supply, Orscheln Farm & Home, hunting and supply stores, and online at Amazon.com and other websites for between $110 and $360.
What Should I Do?
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tree stands and contact FeraDyne Outdoors to receive a replacement tree stand safety harness.
