Sea Moss Gel Superfood Recall

In January 2026, Diva Fam Inc., a company based in Los Angeles, California, announced a recall for all flavors and lots of Sea Moss Gel Superfood due to manufacturing issues that could result in botulism.

According to the recall:

“PH-controlled food products that are not manufactured in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements may present a potential risk of microbial growth, including organisms that can produce toxins associated with botulism.”

How To Identify Sea Moss Gel Superfood

Sea Moss Gel Superfood was sold in 14 flavors, and the product was packaged in 16-fluid-ounce (473 mL) glass jars.

The recall involves all products manufactured before January 9, 2026. Consumers can check the manufacturing code on the top of the lid on the jar, written in MM/YYYY format.

The recall involves the following flavors:

  • Mango
  • Pineapple
  • Wildcrafted
  • Apple and Cinnamon
  • Elderberry
  • Passion Fruit
  • Blue Spirulina and Raspberry
  • Strawberry
  • Cherry
  • Mango and Pineapple
  • 5 Blends in 1
  • Soursop
  • Lemon Pie
  • Orange

Did Anyone Get Sick?

No illnesses were reported. Instead, the issue was identified by the California Department of Public Health. During an inspection, health officials found manufacturing problems that could lead to botulism.

The recall was issued “due to lack of required regulatory authorization and temperature monitoring records for pH-controlled food products,” according to Diva Fam Inc.

What Should I Do?

Diva Fam is urging customers not to eat the affected products. Instead, the product can be thrown away, or returned to the store where they were purchased for a refund.

What is Botulism?

Botulism is a rare type of food poisoning that is caused by a powerful neurotoxin that is produced by a common bacteria called Clostridium botulinum.

Foods that are canned without proper sterilization procedures may be contaminated with this bacteria. The food may not look, taste, or smell spoiled, but eating or drinking even a tiny sip of the botulism toxin could result in a severe illness or death.

The symptoms of botulism include general weakness, dizziness, double vision, difficulty speaking or swallowing, difficulty breathing, muscle weakness, paralysis of the breathing muscles, and death.
