March 1, 2024 — BRP has recalled nearly 14,000 Ski-Doo Snowmobiles because the left ski can break.
The recall involves Ski-Doo® MXZ and Renegade Snowmobiles equipped with Pilot X Skis.
The problem is that the left ski can break and cause the driver to lose control and crash. The driver may suffer serious injuries or death in this type of accident.
BRP said it is aware of one incident in Canada that resulted in an injury. No injuries were reported in the U.S., but BRP received 27 reports in the U.S. of the snowmobile’s left ski breaking.
The recall involves all 2024 Ski-Doo MXZ and Renegade snowmobiles models equipped with Pilot X skis. They were sold by Ski-Doo dealers nationwide from June 2023 through January 2024.
The manufacturer is asking customers to immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles and contact BRP to schedule a free inspection and repair at the dealership by replacing the left ski.
