October 2, 2019 — Tip Top Poultry, Inc. recalled ready-to-eat cooked chicken and turkey products that may be contaminated with Listeria.
The recall involves an undetermined amount of frozen fully-cooked diced or shredded chicken and turkey. The products were shipped to hotels, restaurants, nursing homes, and other institutions nationwide.
Tip Top previously recalled 135,000 pounds of chicken due to Listeria in August.
The problem was discovered after an outbreak of illnesses in Canada. In response, Tip Top recalled all fully-cooked, diced, or shredded poultry produced from January 21, 2019 through September 24, 2019 with product codes ranging from 10000-19999 and 70000-79999.
The products may be labeled as pulled turkey, cooked chicken, all-white cooked chicken, shredded chicken, diced chicken, dark chicken meat, chicken fines, and more.

- H. Walker Foods
- Sysco
- GFS
- West Creek
- R.W. Zant Co.
- Perdue
- Delizous Farms
- Clean Eats Café
- Gordon

There have been no confirmed illnesses due to the recalled products, but Listeria infections can be very serious or deadly. Invasive infections may spread beyond the gastrointestinal tract and cause meningitis (brain inflammation) or severe pregnancy complications.
In healthy adults, listeriosis may cause a fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsions, and sometimes diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms.
