317,000 Travel Steam Irons Recalled for Fire & Burn Hazards

In April 2023, Vornado recalled about 317,000 Steamfast® and Brookstone® Travel Steam Irons that were since 2009 due to a risk of fires and burn injuries.

What is the Problem?

The power cord can become damaged near the cord bushing, which can cause the cord to overheat, catch on fire, or cause burn injuries. In addition, cord damage near the bushing can result in exposed copper wires, which poses a risk of electrical shocks.

What Happened?

Vornado has received 50 reports of incidents, including 38 reports of the iron’s power cord smoking, sparking, burning or other signs of overheating and 12 reports of cord damage. No injuries were reported.
