September 10, 2025 — A woman who was burned by a Farberware Pressure Cooker from Walmart has filed a lawsuit.
The plaintiff, Khalea O., is a woman from Michigan who was seriously injured by a Farberware 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker (Model: WM-CS6004W), a product that is sold exclusively at Walmart.
Her lawsuit explains that on October 14, 2022, she was using the pressure cooker normally when the lid “suddenly and unexpectedly” exploded off the pressure cooker’s pot while it was still pressurized.
The built-up pressure rapidly escaped from the unit and forcefully ejected the scalding-hot contents of the pot onto her body, resulting in “serious and substantial burn injuries,” according to her lawsuit.
Her lawsuit accuses Walmart of putting profits over safety by selling pressure cookers with defective “safety” features that may not lock the lid when the unit is pressurized, which poses a serious burn hazard.
She is seeking justice for painful bodily injuries, physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, diminished enjoyment of life, and more.
Her Pressure Cooker Lawsuit was filed against Walmart on August 28, 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas — Case 5:25-cv-05179-TLB.
