Werner Multi-Max Pro Ladders Recalled for Fall Hazards
In August 2025, Werner recalled about 122,250 Multi-Max Pro Ladders in 20-ft. and 24-ft. sizes that were sold exclusively at Home Depot from November 2021 to February 2024.
What is the Problem?
The recalled Multi-Max Pro ladders have a faulty locking mechanism that can become jammed and fail to fully lock into place when a person tries to adjust the ladder height, which poses a fall hazard.
How Many People Were Injured?
Werner said it received 18 reports of falls, including 14 people who fell and suffered injuries, including:
- Head injuries
- Lacerations (cuts)
- Bruises
- Broken bones
- Bone fractures to the wrist, leg, and ribs
How To Identify Recalled Ladders
The recall involves Werner 20′ and 24′ Multi-Max Pro Multi-Purpose Ladders, which are silver and blue, with a blue label on the side rail.
The label has an oval with “Werner” next to the words “MULTI MAX PRO,” as well as the ladder size and model number. The ladders also include a black rope. The recall involves two models:
- Multi-Max Pro Ladder (ALMP-20IAA) — 20-ft. size ladder
- Multi-Max Pro Ladder (ALMP-24IAA) — 24-ft. size ladder
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled Multi-Max Pro Ladders were sold exclusively at The Home Depot between November 2021 and February 2024, including stores and online at HomeDepot.com, with prices from $200 to $281.
What Should I Do?
Werner is urging customers to immediately stop using the recalled ladders, and register on the website http://www.wernerco.com/recalls or https://recallrtr.com/ladder.
Werner will send instructions on how to upload a photo of your ladder with the model number, and instructions on how to dispose of the ladder.
Once you provide proof of safe and secure disposal of the ladder (and proof of any disposal fees), Werner will send a refund via a physical check.
