EcoFlow Recalls Delta Max 2000 Power Stations
In October 2025, EcoFlow Technology announced a recall for approximately 25,030 EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 portable power stations (Model EFD310) due to a fire hazard.
TThe units were imported by EcoFlow Technology, Inc. of San Francisco, California, and manufactured in China. The repair involves a free firmware update, instead of a physical product return.
What is the Problem?
The defect involves the lithium-ion battery system inside the Delta Max 2000 Power Stations. The problem is that the batteries can overheat and ignite, which creates a dangerous chain-reaction that is known as “thermal runaway.”
Thermal runaway can produce flames, intense heat, and toxic smoke. Once triggered, thermal runaway in a large-capacity battery unit like this can rapidly cause serious burns, ignite nearby materials, and spread fire to homes, garages, and other structures.
According to the recall:
“The Power Stations may overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious burn injury and fire hazard.”
How Many People Were Burned or Injured?
EcoFlow Technology said it received 6 reports of the recalled power stations catching on fire. Property damage from those incidents totaled over $850,000.
No injuries were reported, but the potential risk of injuries associated with this type of defect include:
- Burn injuries from direct contact with fire or overheating surfaces
- Smoke inhalation from battery combustion
- Property damage to homes, garages, and surrounding structures
- Chemical exposure from burning lithium-ion battery materials
How To Identify Recalled Power Stations
Consumers can identify the recalled power stations with the following product information:
- Model: EFD310 (the only model affected — no other EcoFlow models are included)
- Serial number: Begins with “DA” (found on the nameplate on the underside of the product)
- Appearance: Black and silver body; rectangular LCD display on the front; six AC outlets on the back; “ECOFLOW MAX” printed on the right side
- Sold at: Costco.com, Amazon.com, and EcoFlow.com
- Sale period: July 2022 through May 2025
- Price: About $1,600
What Should I Do?
Stop using your EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 (Model EFD310) immediately. Instead of returning the product to the retailer, the problem can be resolved through a free firmware update, which must be installed through the EcoFlow app before resuming use.
