Deep® Frozen Food Recalled After Salmonella Outbreak
In September 2025, Chetak LLC Group expanded a voluntary recall for more than 60 types of Deep®-brand frozen foods, vegetables, and fruits after they were linked to an outbreak of Salmonella illnesses.
The original recall began in July 2025 after frozen sprouted mung beans tested positive for a strain of Salmonella that matched an outbreak with 11 illnesses.
The expanded recall involves 61 products that were manufactured on the same equipment between December 2024 and August 2025.
How To Identify Recalled Foods
The recalled frozen foods include sprouted mat (moth) and moong (mung) beans, surti undhiu mix, and dozens of fruits and vegetables. Chetak LLC has provided a list of recalled products with Item Photos, Lot Numbers, and Use-By Dates.
How Many People Got Sick?
According to the CDC Outbreak Investigation, Deep®-brand frozen foods have been linked to a Salmonella outbreak with 11 illnesses in 10 states, including 4 people who were hospitalized, since November 2024.
The CDC said the true number of illnesses is likely much higher, and the outbreak may not be limited to the states identified in the recall.
FDA Tests Find Salmonella In Multiple Deep Frozen Foods
