August 20, 2024 — A woman who was burned by an ALDI Ambiano Pressure Cooker has filed a lawsuit against the retailer.
The plaintiff, Iglesias S., is a resident of Dallas, Texas. She claims that she was burned in April 2022 as a result of the “pressure cooker’s lid suddenly and unexpectedly exploding off the pressure cooker’s pot.”
She claims that she was burned because her Ambiano 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker that was purchased from an ALDI store in Texas was “dangerously defective.”
Specifically, she claims that the lid of the pressure cooker can open when the machine is pressurized, “allowing its scalding hot contents to be forcefully ejected from the pressure cooker.”
She also claims that ALDI touts the “safety” of the pressure cooker, and states that they are equipped with safety devices such as a float valve, pressure regulator, and a lid position sensor.
Despite these claims of safety, she alleges that the ALDI Ambiano Pressure Cooker is defective because the lid is removable with built-up pressure, heat, and steam still inside the unit.
The ALDI Ambiano Pressure Cooker Lawsuit was filed against ALDI, Inc., on April 8, 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (Dallas Division) — Case Number 3:24-cv-00855-K.
