ALDI Coffee Makers Recalled for Burn Hazard
In August 2024, ALDI recalled about 28,000 Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers after people were burned by hot water.
What is the Problem?
Ambiano Coffee Makers were recalled after ALDI received 25 reports of hot water being expelled from the top of the machine, including 3 reports of people who were burned by hot water.
How To Identify Recalled Coffee Makers
The recalled Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers were sold in the following colors: gray, blue, pink, and purple. They have the name “Ambiano” printed on the side of the coffee maker.
The recall involves machines with Model Numbers 708924 or 708925.
The machines also had UPC Codes 4061464174788, 4061464174801, 4061464174849, 4061464174825, or 4061464174863.
The Model numbers and UPC Codes are located on the rating label on the bottom of the unit.
When Were They Sold?
Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers were sold at ALDI grocery stores in 38 states and D.C. from July 2023 through September 2023 for about $50.
What Should I Do?
ALDI is urging customers to stop using the coffee makers. The machines can be returned to any ALDI store for a $49.99 cash refund, plus applicable sales tax.
ALDI is also offering an alternative refund in the form of a $75 ALDI electronic gift card. Customers can register for the gift card by visiting https://www.recallrtr.com/aldicoffeemaker and following instructions for how to register, render the machine inoperable, and upload photos.
