On September 18, 2025, Wuensche USA of Chicago, Illinois, announced a recall for about 21,690 Ambiano® Cotton Candy Makers that were sold exclusively at ALDI stores in 2024 due to a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries.
What is the Problem?
Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers were recalled because the heating element can burn the sugar or catch on fire if the machine is used without the included sugar receptacle. No injuries were reported.
How Many Incidents Were Reported?
The recalled Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers were linked to 12 reports of sparking or fires that occurred when the sugar burned or ignited.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers were sold at ALDI retail stores nationwide between August 2024 and September 2015 for $15.
How To Identify Recalled Cotton Candy Makers
The recall involves all Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers with Model Number 836098. These products have a red or teal base, with a clear plastic cover. The name “Ambiano” and the model number are printed on the bottom of the unit, and also the product packaging.
Can I Get a Refund?
Yes. Customers should immediately stop using the recalled cotton candy makers, and get a refund by returning the fully-intact cotton candy maker to any ALDI store.
An alternative way to get a refund is by emailing the manufacturer, Wuensche USA, at service@801service.net. This email must include a photo of the cotton candy maker with the unplugged power cord cut, and a photo showing Model Number 836098 and Date Code 08/2024.
