In December 2025, Amp Fit announced a recall for about 1,900 amp® MP2 Smart Fitness Machines due to a risk of lacerations (cuts) or serious injuries.
How Many People Were Injured?
The problem is that the adjustable arm on the machine can fail to lock properly, which can allow the arm to swing unexpectedly. There were 10 reports of the arm not locking properly, resulting in injuries such as:
- Lacerations (cuts) to the head
- Bruising to the shoulders
- Injuries to other parts of the body
- And more
What is the MP2 Fitness Machine?
The recall involves the MP2 model of the AMP Smart Fitness Machine. The machine is a sleek, minimalist, wall-mounted machine that is used for strength training in a home gym.
How Does It Work?
The machine has an adjustable arm that provides resistance up to 100 pounds. It integrates with Amp Fit, a digital app that provides personalized training, and automatic adjustments based on the user’s performance and strength.
Where Were They Sold?
Amp MP2 Smart Fitness Machines were sold online at www.Ampfit.com from January 2025 through August 2025 for about $1,800.
Can I Get a Refund?

To get your machine repaired, you will need to schedule for an authorized technician to inspect your machine and repair it. The technician will replace a part within the shoulder cap of the locking mechanism, which will help ensure that the lock stays fully engaged.
