Bugaboo Giraffe High Chair Recall
In June 2025, the baby-products company Bugaboo North America announced a recall for more than 18,250 Bugaboo Giraffe High Chairs because the legs of the chair can detach from the frame, which poses a fall hazard and a risk of “serious injury or death to babies,” according to the recall.
What Happened?
Bugaboo said it received 22 reports of the legs of the high chair detaching, including 13 reports of minor injuries.
What is the Risk?
High chairs are designed to bring a baby or toddler up to table-height. If the legs of the chair detach unexpectedly, the child can fall and suffer serious, life-threatening injuries — including head injuries, broken bones, cuts, scrapes, bruises, bleeding, or even death.
Bugaboo High Chairs Linked to Deadly Fall Hazards
Bugaboo Giraffe High Chairs were recalled due to a fall hazard and a risk of serious injury or death, according to the recall:
“The highchairs pose a fall hazard and risk of serious injury or death to babies because the legs of the chair can detach from the frame if the screws connecting the legs are not properly tightened during assembly.”
How To Identify Recalled High Chairs
The recall involves Bugaboo Giraffe High Chairs that were sold between May 2023 and April 2025 for about $380.
The highchairs were sold in blue, black, natural wood/white, warm wood/gray and white with the following item codes: 200008005, 200008004, 200008002, 200008003, 200008001.
The recall involves about 18,280 high chairs that were sold in the U.S., plus another 2,325 high chairs that were sold in Canada.
These high chairs were sold nationwide at stores like Nordstrom, other specialty stores, and online at Amazon.com and Bugaboo.com.
What Should I Do?
Customers should stop using their Giraffe High Chairs and check the Serial Number (which is on a sticker under the seat — it begins with 43) on the recall website: https://service.bugaboo.com/s/bugaboo-giraffe-recall-repair-kit-checker.
After you verify that your high chair is being recalled, you can begin the process to order a free repair kit. The repair kit will contain an Allen key and new screws to install into the product’s legs.
