February 14, 2024 — An ongoing recall for charcuterie and deli meat trays has expanded to include more brands that may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The original recall was announced by Busseto Foods after at least 47 people fell ill with Salmonella, including 10 who were hospitalized.
The expanded recall involves several brands of pre-packaged, ready-to-eat charcuterie meat trays, antipasto, coppa and deli meat trays.
The brand-names include Beretta, Busseto, Culinary Tour, Salumi Artigianali, Dietz & Watson, and store brands from Aldi, Lidl, and Publix.
These items may have “best by” dates up through July 2024. Click here for a full list of recalled products.
The recall was announced after health officials collected an unopened Coppa product as part of their investigation into an outbreak of Salmonella illnesses. The sample tested positive for Salmonella. After further investigation, health officials determined that the recalled products may be under-processed.
Eating food that is contaminated with Salmonella may cause food poisoning. The most common symptoms are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 6 hours to 6 days after eating the food.
