ALDI Recalls Cream Cheese for Salmonella Risk
On May 9, 2024, ALDI recalled Happy Farms Cream Cheese Spread products due to a risk of Salmonella contamination. No illnesses were reported. The recalled cream cheese items were produced in cooperation with Schreiber Foods Inc.

HyVee Recalls Cream Cheese for Salmonella Risk
On May 6, 2024, Hy-Vee Inc. recalled their store-brand HyVee® Cream Cheese and boxes of HyVee® Cookies & Cream Mix due to a risk of Salmonella contamination.

These items were sold at Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drugstore, Dollar Fresh Market, and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh convenience stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
What is the Risk?
Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal food poisoning illnesses. The risk is highest for frail or elderly people, young children, and people with weakened immune systems.
Healthy people who are infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
