Cuisinart Compact Blender Juicer Extractor Recall

In December 2022, a recall was issued for more than 66,000 Cuisinart® Compact Blender Juicer Extractors (Model CBJ-450) due to a risk of laceration injuries.

What is the Problem?

The problem is that the blender part of the recalled Cuisinart Blender & Juicers may contain a loose nut, which could result in the blade detaching from the base when it is being used. The blade can also puncture the blender container, which poses a laceration hazard.

Was Anyone Injured?

No injuries were reported in the U.S. or Canada, but Cuisinart said it received 3 reports of the blades detaching from the blender base. In one report, the blade also punctured through the blender container.

Was My Cuisinart Blender Juicer Recalled?

The recall includes Cuisinart Compact Blender and Juice Extractor Combos with Model Number CBJ-450 (printed on a label on the bottom of the base and the original packaging).

They were sold November 2021 through August 2022 at Crate & Barrel and other stores nationwide in the U.S., as well as Amazon.com and other websites.

Around 66,000 Cuisinart Compact Blender and Juicer Extractors were recalled in the U.S., plus another 1,500 that were sold in Canada (click here for the Canadian recall notice).
