Drinkmate Carbonation Bottle Recall

In August 2025, Drinkmate announced a recall for about 106,200 Drinkmate 1L Carbonation Bottles that can explode during use and cause injuries.

The recall only includes carbonation bottles that were manufactured between January 2026 and October 2026, according to Drinkmate:

“We have identified that bottles within this range can explode during use, posing serious impact, laceration, and hearing damage hazards to users and bystanders.”

How Many People Were Injured?

Drinkmate said it received 8 reports of the carbonation bottle exploding while in use, including 4 reports of injuries such as lacerations (cuts), impact injuries, and hearing damage.

How To Identify Recalled Bottles

The recalled Drinkmate 1-Liter Carbonation Bottles have a clear polyethylene terephthalate (PET) body and caps and bases in red, blue, white, or black plastic.

These bottles have expiration dates between 01/2026 and 10/2026 printed on the side of the bottle. They were sold individually, and also as part of some Drinkmate OmniFizz starter kits.

Where Were They Sold?

The carbonation bottles were sold from April 2023 through October 2024 at iDrinkproducts.com, Walmart.com, Amazon.com, Target.com and HomeDepot.com.

What Should I Do?

Drinkmate is urging customers to immediately stop using the recalled carbonation bottles and visit the recall website to register for a free replacement bottle at https://idrinkproducts.com/pages/drinkmate-safety-recall-of-1l-pet-bottles.
