ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Bank Recall

In August 2025, Waymeet Ltd. announced a recall for about 24,000 ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks because the lithium-ion battery inside the power bank can explode, overheat and catch on fire, which poses a risk of serious burn injuries.

What is the Problem?

No injuries were reported, but there were 9 reports of the power banks catching on fire or exploding when the lithium-ion battery overheated. These incidents caused $20,000 in property damage.

According to the manufacturer, the “risk of failure is extremely low” but the issue poses a safety hazard:

“We’ve identified a potential manufacturing issue affecting lithium-ion battery cells from a specific supplier. This issue was discovered during our enhanced quality checks. While the risk of failure is extremely low, we’re voluntarily recalling certain models out of an abundance of caution to prioritize your safety.”

How To Identify Recalled Power Banks

The recall involves pocket-sized ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks with model numbers 2G520, 2G505B and 2G512B.

The model number is printed on the right side of the power bank. The name “ESR” is printed on the back. They also have five LED lights.

Where Were The Power Banks Sold?

The recalled ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks were sold from September 2023 through July 2025 at Amazon.com, Homedepot.com and Esrtech.com for between $32 and $40.

What Should I Do?

If your power bank is part of the recall, the manufacturer is urging you to immediately stop using the power bank and visit the recall website to register for a full refund: https://www.esrtech.com/pages/recall.
