Listeria Food Poisoning
Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause serious food poisoning, and sometimes fatal infections — especially in young children, frail or older people, and others with weak immune systems.
Healthy individuals may suffer short‐term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. In pregnant women, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, and infection of a newborn.
