January 8, 2025 — Safety officials are warning people about the risk of deadly tip-over accidents involving GIKPAL Dressers that were sold on Walmart.com.
The recall involves about 800 GIKPAL 12-Drawer Dressers that were sold exclusively on Walmart.com by ONME Direct between January 2024 and November 2024 for about $91.
The recalled dressers have model numbers HI1437_13, HI1437_14 or HI1437_02. You can find the model number, “Fabric Dresser” and “Made In China” printed on the product packaging.
No injuries or incidents were reported, but the dressers were recalled because they fail to meet federal safety rules for furniture stability.
According to safety officials, “The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children.”
ONME Direct is urging customers to immediately stop using the dressers if they are not properly anchored to a wall, and place them in an area that children cannot access.
You can contact ONME Direct for instructions on how to receive a full refund by submitting photos of disposal of the dresser.
