Hart Nail Gun Recalled for Serious Injury Hazard
In November 2021, Hart Tools recalled approximately 15,700 Hart 18-Gauge 2” Brad Nailers that were exclusively sold at Walmart.
The nail guns can malfunction and fire a nail without contacting a work surface. No injuries were reported, but the problem poses a puncture hazard to users and bystanders.
“The contact sensor on the nailer can malfunction and involuntarily discharge a nail, posing a risk of serious injury to the user or bystanders,” according to the recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The recall involves nail guns with model numbers HPNR01, HPNR01B. HPNR01B-SK, or HPNR01BNCA. They were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at www.walmart.com from April 2021 through September 2021.
Hart Consumer Products is asking consumers to immediately stop using the recalled nail gun and return it to Walmart for a full refund.
