July 9, 2024 — Around 1 million Hatch Baby Sound Machines were recalled due to an electrical shock hazard.
The recall involves the power adapters that were sold with Rest 1st Generation Sound Machines.
The problem is that the plastic housing around the AC power adapter can come off when removing the adapter from the power outlet. This will leave the power prongs exposed, which poses a shock hazard.
Two people reported suffering electrical shocks, according to the recall. There were also 19 reports of the plastic housing around the AC power adapter coming off.
The recalled Hatch Baby Sound Machines were sold nationwide from January 2019 through September 2022 at stores such as BuyBuyBaby, Target, Walmart, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids, BestBuy, and online websites such as Amazon.com and Hatch.co.
Hatch Baby is urging customers to immediately stop using the recalled power adapters and contact the company for a free replacement power adapter by visiting https://www.hatch.co/adapter-recall.
