T400 Battery Chargers Recalled After 33 Reports of Fires and Explosions

In April 2026, Huizhou Haitan Technology recalled approximately 4,800 HTRC and Haisito brand T400 battery chargers due to a serious fire hazard.

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled chargers were sold online through AliExpress.us, Amazon.com, Banggood.com, eBay.com, and Pyrodrone.com from March 2019 through March 2026 for approximately $130.

What Is the Problem?

According to the CPSC:

“The chargers can ignite or cause a connected battery to ignite, posing a fire hazard and risk of serious injury and death.”

The T400 is a multi-chemistry battery charger marketed to hobbyists for charging lithium polymer (LiPo), lithium-ion, NiMH, and other battery types commonly used in drones, RC aircraft, and similar devices. The fire and explosion risk applies both to the charger itself and to any battery connected to it during use.

How Many People Were Burned or Injured?

The CPSC reports that Huizhou Haitan Technology received:

  • 33 reports of fires and explosions
  • 3 reports of burn and smoke inhalation injuries
  • 12 reports of property damage totaling $224,000

These figures represent only confirmed reports submitted to the manufacturer. Many consumers who experience fire events do not contact the company directly, meaning the actual number of affected users may be higher.

How To Identify the Recalled T400 Battery Charger

The recalled chargers share the following characteristics:

  • Model number: T400, printed on the front of the unit
  • Appearance: Black with a touch screen display
  • Brand names: HTRC (printed on some units), Haisito (may appear only on purchase receipt — not on the product itself)
  • Note: Some units do not display any brand name but will still have “T400” printed on the front
  • Sold at: AliExpress.us, Amazon.com, Banggood.com, eBay.com, Pyrodrone.com
  • Sale period: March 2019 through March 2026
  • Price: Approximately $130
  • Recall number: 26-379

What Should I Do?

The CPSC and Huizhou Haitan Technology advise consumers to immediately stop using the recalled chargers. Do not use the charger again under any circumstances — including completing a charge already in progress.

To receive a full refund:

  • Contact Huizhou Haitan Technology at 327-208-2365 (Monday–Friday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET), or by email at hasaki57620@outlook.com
