Kohl’s SONOMA Candle Recall for Fire & Burn Hazard
In November 2020, Kohl’s recalled about 512,000 SONOMA Goods For Life® 3-Wick Candles that were sold since 2019 due to a risk of fires, burn injuries, and damage.
What is the problem?
The candle’s high flames can ignite the surface of the wax, or cause the glass to break. Kohl’s reported 29 incidents involving high flames and/or breaking glass.
How Many People were Injured?
Kohl’s said it was aware of 5 people who suffered minor burn injuries. There were also 6 incidents of property damage, such as burn marks on furniture, carpet, or countertops.
What Candles Were Recalled?
SONOMA Goods For Life 3-Wick Candles were sold in 12.7-ounce candles in glass containers with metal lids. The recall includes dozens of fragrances, models, and styles (click here for a list of recalled candles).
They were were sold at Kohl’s stores nationwide and online at www.Kohls.com from December 2019 to October 2020 for about $20.
What Should I Do?
Stop using the recalled candles and return them to the nearest Kohl’s store for a full refund (with receipt) or in-store credit (no receipt).
