December 8, 2022 — Lidl stores have recalled certain 8.4 oz. Favorina® Advent Calendars due to Salmonella.
No illnesses were reported, but Lidl said they discovered an issue with Salmonella contamination during routine testing.
The recalled advent calendars were sold at Lidl stores from October 12, 2022 to December 5, 2022. They are marked with a BEST IF USED BY year of 2023 and the barcode number 4056489516965.
Lidl is asking consumers to return it to the store for a full refund. No receipt is necessary.
Salmonella infections are more likely to become severe or life-threatening in young children who might be eating the recalled advent calendar. Other high-risk populations include pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
The symptoms of a Salmonella infection include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, fever, and headache.
