In October 2025, Lifepro Fitness announced a recall for about 78,000 BioRemedy Infrared Sauna Blankets because they can overheat and cause burn injuries.
What Happened?
LifePro Fitness said there were 65 reports of the recalled sauna blankets overheating, including 32 people who suffered burn injuries.
How To Identify Recalled Sauna Blankets
The recall involves all Lifepro BioRemedy Infrared Sauna Blankets with model numbers:

- LP-BRMDYL-GRY
- LP-BRMDYR-BLK
- LP-BRMDYR-GRY
- LP-BRMDYR-BLU

The blankets have a control pad with a grey face. They came in two sizes: 31″x 71″ (regular) and 36″x 76″ (large), and colors including black, gray, pink, and purple. The name “Lifepro” and the model number are printed on the front of the blanket and the controller.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled sauna blankets were sold at Lifepro.com, Amazon.com, Walmart, QVC and Dick’s Sporting Goods from September 2022 through June 2025 for between $179 and $199.
What Should I Do?
Customers should immediately stop using the recalled BioRemedy Infrared Sauna Blankets and unplug it. Then disable the product by cutting the cord to the remote control.
The recall does NOT include the BioRemedy Plus Sauna Blanket, which is the current version of this product. Lifepro will supply this newer version of the sauna blanket as a free replacement for customers who register for the recall. You can file a claim for a replacement at https://lifeprofitness.com/pages/recall.
What is a Sauna Blanket?
Sauna blankets, or “portable saunas,” are designed like a sleeping bag. A person can wrap an infrared sauna blanket around themselves, or go inside the bag to warm their body.
How Does a Sauna Blanket Work?
The sauna blanket has a network of infrared heating elements that are sewn into the fabric material. When an electric current flows through the material, it releases energy in the form of heat. The person controls the temperature of the sauna blanket using a remote control, or a hard-wired controller.
How Hot Can a Lifepro Sauna Blanket Get?
The temperature setting on the Lifepro BioRemedy Sauna Blanket is adjustable from 113-176°F and you can set a treatment time from 30-60 minutes. LifePro urges people to use it 3 or 4 times a week.
What Are The Benefits?
Lifepro claims the BioRemedy Sauna Blanket can “boost blood flow and metabolism, relieve pain, and detoxify the body.” They also claim that “infrared sauna therapy is perfect for everyone from professional athletes, to people who experience stiffness, pain, and inflammation.”
What is the Problem?
Sauna blankets that reach a temperature of 176°F may pose a risk of burn injuries. At this temperature, burns can occur in just a few seconds. The problem is that a person who is wrapped inside a blanket may not be able to escape quickly enough when it is too hot.
