myCharge Power Hub Portable Chargers Recalled for Fire Hazard
On June 20, 2024, myCharge recalled about 567,000 portable chargers that were sold at Costco due to a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries.
What is the Problem?
The recalled portable chargers can overheat while charging, posing fire and burn hazards.
The recall involves myCharge POWER HUB All-In-One 10,000 mAh powerbank models numbers AO10FK-A, AO10FK-B, and AO10FK-C. The name “myCharge” is printed on the front surface along the long edge. The model number is printed on the back.
What Happened?
myCharge said it received 120 reports of the portable chargers overheating. There were 5 reports of incidents, including 2 reports of residential fires, resulting in about $165,000 in property damage.
Costco received 115 returns of the portable chargers mentioning melting, expanding, smoking, fire, burning, exploding, or sparking. There were no reports of injuries requiring medical attention.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled myCharge Power Hub Portable Chargers were sold exclusively at Costco stores nationwide and online at Costco.com from January 2022 through November 2023 for about $40.
What Should I Do?
