February 13, 2023 — A woman who was injured by a Ninja Nutri Blender has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer.
The lawsuit was filed by Sarah A., a woman from New Jersey who claims that she suffered “serious and substantial injuries” as a result of the SharkNinja blender blades detaching from the base.
The incident occurred on February 7, 2021 and involved a Ninja® Nutri Blender (Model BL720WM30). According to the lawsuit:
“The fast-spinning blades can unexpectedly heat up its contents, such that if the blender explodes, the user is at risk of severe burns or lacerations and injuries requiring medical attention.”
She claims that it was “defectively designed” due to its “plastic cup explosively separating from the blade base…allowing its scalding hot contents to be forcefully ejected.”
She alleges that her use of an “unreasonably dangerous blender” resulted in significant and painful bodily injuries, medical expenses, physical pain, mental anguish, diminished enjoyment of life, and more.
Her lawsuit was filed on January 31, 2023 against SharkNinja Operating LLC in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey — Case Number 1:23-cv-00547.
