Olight Mini Flashlight Recall

In March 2022, Olight Ecommerce Technology recalled about 215,100 M2R Pro and Warrior Mini Flashlights due to a burn hazard.

What is the Problem?

The flashlights were recalled because they can turn on accidentally and overheat when they are stored in a pocket or a holster. The flashlights can also get very hot, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

How Many People Were Injured?

Olight said it received 22 reports of people who were burned when their flashlight overheated, including 3 people who suffered 2nd-degree burns. In total, there were 127 reports of the flashlights turning on inadvertently and overheating.

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled Olight flashlights were sold at Olightstore.com, Amazon.com and through small independent stores nationwide from November 2019 through November 2021 for between $48 and $120.

What is a 2nd-degree Burn?

Second-degree burns, also called “partial thickness burns,” are burns that damage the uppermost layer of skin (epidermis) and part of the dermis layer of skin. The symptoms of a 2nd degree burn include:

  • Burn site appears red
  • Blisters
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Skin under the blister is wet, weepy, pink and painful
  • Skin sensation may be diminished
