UPDATE: Generac Recalls E-Start Pressure Washers for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Risk

In April 2022, Generac Power Systems recalled about 53,000 Generac® and DR Power® electric start (e-start) pressure washers that can self-start, posing a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning if the unit is in a confined space. No injuries were reported, but there were 9 reports of the pressure washers self-starting and operating without being connected to a water supply.

Over 1 Million Greenworks® and Powerworks® Pressure Washers Recalled After 13 Injuries Reported

In April 2021, Hongkong Sun Rise Trading recalled over 1 million Greenworks® and Powerworks® pressure washers due to a serious injury hazard.

The pressure washers were recalled after 15 reports of the spray gun connector breaking, which allowed the hose and/or parts of the connector to dislodge under pressure. This poses an impact hazard.

There were 13 reports of people who were injured when they were hit by the hose or parts of the broken spray gun handle, including 7 people who needed medical treatment for concussions, broken bones, or eye and mouth injuries.

The recall includes Greenworks® 2000 psi plastic pressure washer spray guns, which were included in the Greenworks 2000 psi Plastic Gun Accessory kit, as well as Greenworks® Pressure Washers ranging from 1500 – 1800 psi.

The recall also includes Powerworks® Pressure Washer models ranging from 1700 – 1800 psi.

They were sold nationwide at Lowe’s stores, Lowes.com, Amazon.com, and other retailers from January 2017 to February 2021. For more information, visit https://greenworks.ordertree.com/pressure-washer-gun-handle-recall.
