Bornstein Seafoods Recalls Shrimp for Listeria Risk

In June 2025, the Washington-based shrimp company Bornstein Seafoods issued a recall for about 44,550 pounds of fully-cooked & peeled coldwater shrimp meat that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that causes food poisoning.

The recall involves 1-pound (250/350-count) and 5-pound (350/500-count) bags. These products were sold to retailers and distributors in California, Oregon, Washington and Canada, and possibly distributed further to other states, or nationwide, according to the recall.

No illnesses were reported, but Bornstein Seafoods said a routine test discovered Listeria in an in-process shrimp sample in a food production environment.

The products have the lot code printed at the lower left corner of master case label, and at the bottom on the back side of the bag. The recall involves products with the following Lot Numbers: A19008, A19009, P11710, A19009, A19019, A19026, A19030, A19032, A19037, A19039, A18989, A19006, A19007, P11709, P11710.
