Govee Space Heaters Recalled After 7 Fires, Burn Injury Reported
In November 2024, about 512,500 Govee Space Heaters were recalled due to fire and burn injury hazards.
Govee blamed the problem on defective wireless control features, which could cause the space heaters to overheat and catch on fire.There were 113 reports of the space heaters overheating, including 7 reports of fires, and 1 person who suffered a minor burn injury.
The recall involves GoveeLife and Govee Smart Electric Space Heaters with Model Numbers H7130 (including the H7130101 variation), H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134, and H7135.

Vornado Recalls 79,000 Space Heaters After 7 Fires Reported
In August 2014, Vornado Air recalled about 79,000 Vornado Electric Space Heaters after 7 reports of space heater fires, one report of a person who suffered smoke inhalation, and property damage. Vornado said there were 29 reports of the space heaters overheating and melting.
The recall involves the Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex Electric Space Heaters that were sold nationwide from June 2013 through May 2014 for about $60.
Sunbeam Recalls Holmes Space Heaters for Fire Hazard
In May 2014, Sunbeam Products recalled about 151,600 Holmes Ceramic Heaters because they can overheat, which poses a fire hazard. There were 132 reports of heaters that unexpectedly stopped working and/or overheated, resulting in 1 report of smoke inhalation and 10 reports of property damage involving burned flooring, according to the recall.
