Spartan Riding Lawn Mower Recall
In November 2025, Spartan Mowers & UTVs announced a recall for about 650 model-year 2025 Spartan SRT-XD and KGZ-XD riding lawn mowers that can bounce unexpectedly and cause the driver to lose control and crash.
What is the Problem?
In the recall, Spartan warned that the “riding mower’s steering arm dampers can be installed incorrectly, which can result in an unexpected bouncing motion and loss of operator control, posing a crash hazard.”
How Many People Were Injured?
Spartan said it received 15 reports of the mower “bouncing unexpectedly while in use,” including one person who suffered a minor injured involving scrapes and bruises.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled Spartan riding lawn mowers were sold between February 2025 and October 2025 for between $16,400 and $19,700. The mower is gray, black and orange, and has “Spartan” on the front.
Was My Lawn Mower Recalled?
To determine if your Spartan Riding Lawn Mower is part of the recall, you will need to find your mower’s model and serial number.
These numbers are located on a metal serial plate that is attached on the frame of the machine immediately in front of, and at the feet of, the seated operator.
The recall involves riding lawn mowers with the following serial numbers:
- The serial number range for affected Spartan SRT-XD mowers is 417930476 to 420130746
- The serial number range for affected Spartan KGZ-XD mowers is 417930476 to 420130746
