July 23, 2025 — A lawsuit has been filed by a woman from Texas who was burned on her face and upper body when her Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker exploded without warning.
The lawsuit was filed by Krystle J., a woman from Texas who was severely burned by a Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker that was manufactured by SharkNinja LLC, a company based in Dallas, Texas.
In May 2025, SharkNinja recalled 1.8 million Ninja Foodi Pressure Cookers (OP300-series) after 26 lawsuits were filed and 106 burn injury reports, including 50 reports of severe burns.
The plaintiff was burned on August 17, 2024, while using a Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker (Model Number OP402Q, Serial Number OP402Q). Her lawsuit alleges that it exploded without warning:
“Plaintiff attempted to use the Subject Pressure Cooker as instructed when, without warning, during typical use, the Subject Pressure Cooker exploded, causing severe burns to Plaintiff’s face, chest, arms, and upper torso.”
As a result of this incident, she suffered “serious bodily injuries” and other losses, for which she is now seeking compensation and justice.
Her pressure cooker lawsuit was filed on July 2, 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas (Houston Division) — Case 4:25-cv-03084.
