15.5 Million Toshiba Laptop AC Adaptors Recalled for Fire Hazard
In February 2024, about 15.5 million Toshiba Laptop AC Adaptors were recalled because they can overheats, spark, catch on fire, and cause burn injuries.
How Many People Were Burned?
There were 43 reports of people who suffered minor burn injuries when their Toshiba AC adaptor overheated or caught on fire. There were also 679 reports of the recalled AC adaptors overheating, catching on fire, melting, and burning.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled Toshiba AC adaptors were sold nationwide in the U.S. from April 2008 through April 2014 as original equipment with Toshiba laptop computers, or separately for between $25 and $75.
Another 1.3 Million AC Adaptors Recalled in Canada
The recall also includes about 1.3 million Toshiba AC adaptors that were sold in Canada.
What Should I Do?
The manufacturer is asking customers to immediately stop using the recalled AC adaptors and contact Dynabook Americas for a free replacement AC adaptor.
