June 23, 2025 — Trader Joe’s is warning customers in Northern California and Nevada about a recall for Vampire Slayer Cheese Curds due to Listeria.
No illnesses were reported in the FDA Recall posted on June 21.
Instead, the cheese was recalled due to a “routine sampling program by the company which revealed that the finished products contained the bacteria,” according to the manufacturer, Face Rock Creamery.
Customers can identify the recalled cheese with the following information:
- Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar Cheese Curds
- Manufacturer: Face Rock Creamery in Bandon, Oregon.
- Packaged in a clear, sealed plastic cup with a lid.
- UPC 8 51222 00528 7
- Lot Numbers 20250519VS01 and 20250519VS02
- Use By date of 08292025
The recalled cheese was distributed in Trader Joe’s stores in Northern California (including Monterey, Fresno and all locations North) and Northern Nevada (including stores in Carson City, Reno, and Sparks).
Trader Joe’s is urging anyone who purchased this product to return it to the store for a full refund.
