July 29, 2020 — Triangle Tube Co. has recalled 63,000 Prestige & Prestige Excellence gas boilers after a person died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
The recall involves 22 models of the Prestige Solo & Prestige Excellence condensing gas boilers for residential and light commercial use. They are wall-hung condensing gas boilers in a white metal box.
Triangle Tube is warning that carbon monoxide can leak out of the gas boilers if the vent adapter detaches, or if it is not reattached securely after maintenance or repairs.
The company reported that a person died from carbon monoxide poisoning in 2016 after the adapter was not reattached after a repair.
Triangle Tube also reported 2 other incidents where the vent tube adapter separated from the recalled gas boilers.
The gas boilers were sold nationwide from November 2011 through July 2020 for between $3,400 and $9,700.
