Walmart Recalls 795,000 Chairs After 19 Injuries Reported
In May 2021, Walmart and Cheyenne Products recalled about 795,000 Mainstay® metal folding chairs and barstools because the legs can break. The chairs have been sold since 2014 and over a dozen people were injured.
What is the Problem?
The chairs were recalled after 41 reports of the weld attaching the legs to the seat bottom breaking. At least 19 people were injured, including 4 people who suffered broken bones (fractures) and 1 person who suffered a torn ligament.
Where Were The Chairs Sold?
The chairs and barstools were exclusively sold at Walmart stores and Walmart.com from January 2014 through April 2021 for $30 to $42.
Walmart recalled multiple styles of metal folding chairs and barstools. All of the chairs have padded seats that are upholstered in vinyl or microfiber. They were sold under the Mainstay® brand name.
To look at Model Numbers and UPC codes, check the recall notice or look at pictures of the recalled chairs on Cheyenne Products’ website.
