Wegmans Mixed Nuts Recalled for Salmonella
In December 2025, health officials announced a recall for certain tubs and bags of Wegmans Deluxe Unsalted Mixed Nuts that may be contaminated with Salmonella, a food poisoning bacteria.
Did Anyone Get Sick?
No illnesses or reports of Salmonella were linked to the mixed nut products that were recalled at Wegmans as of December 5, 2025.
What Happened?
The products were manufactured by Mellace Family Brands, Inc. of Warren, Ohio. The company was notified by a supplier after a sample of raw pistachios tested positive for Salmonella. The pistachios were used as ingredients in Wegmans Unsalted Deluxe Mixed Nuts.

- packaged in a plastic bag

- The lot code and best-by date can be found on the back of the bag below the nutrition label.

The recalled batches of Wegmans Deluxe Unsalted Mixed Nuts were sold between November 3 and December 1, 2025 at Wegmans stores in:
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- North Carolina
- New Jersey
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Virginia
- Washington, D.C.
What Should I Do?
Anyone who ate the recalled mixed nut products who is concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Wegmans is urging customers to return the product to the service desk at your local Wegmans store for a full refund.
What is the Risk?
Healthy adults can usually recover from Salmonella in about a week. In some cases, the illness can become life-threatening, especially for infants, people who are elderly or frail, and others who have a vulnerable immune system due to underlying health issues.
Signs & Symptoms of Severe Salmonella Infections
Severe symptoms may appear if the infection causes dehydration, or Salmonella spreads to the bloodstream and causes sepsis.
According to the CDC, severe Salmonella symptoms requiring immediate medical attention include:
- Diarrhea with fever > 102°F
- Bloody diarrhea
- Vomiting preventing fluid intake
- Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, little urination, dizziness)
