Wolfgang Puck Tea Kettles Recalled After 5 People Burned

In August 2025, Synergy Housewares recalled about 40,000 Wolfgang Puck Petite Tea Kettles that were sold by HSN because the lid is too loose, and it can fall off when a person tries to pour tea, which may result in burn injuries or scalds.

What is the Problem?

The tea kettles are designed with a tea-infuser basket under the lid. The problem is that “the kettle’s infuser basket lid is loose and can fall off during use, posing a burn hazard to consumers,” the recall warns.

How Many Burn Injuries Were Reported?

The recalled Wolfgang Puck Petite Tea Kettles were linked to 5 reports of burn injuries or scalds, according to the recall:

“Synergy Housewares has received at least 10 reports of incidents involving the kettle lids, including 5 resulting in injuries such as burns or scalding from the lid falling off the kettle during use.”

Where Were They Sold?

Wolfgang Puck Petite Tea Kettles were sold exclusively by HSN from August 2020 through January 2025 for about $20. They were sold on the home-shopping HSN television network and online at HSN.com.

How To Identify Recalled Tea Kettles

The recall involves Wolfgang Puck® Petite Tea Kettles in stainless-steel. They were sold in colors including beige, black, pink, and red.

The kettles have a removable tea-infuser basket with a lid. The basket is made of stainless-steel mesh, and it is used to brew loose-leaf tea.

The underside of the kettle has “Wolfgang Puck Petite Kettle” and a 6-digit lot code (022020, 022021, 022022, 042022, 022023 or 032023).

Can I Get a Refund?

No. Instead of a refund, Synergy Housewares is asking consumers to stop using the tea kettle immediately and contact the company for a free new lid for the kettle.
