YETI Recalls Travel Mugs for Burn Hazard
In November 2020, YETI Coolers recalled 241,500 Rambler® 20-oz Travel Mugs with Stronghold Lids due to a burn risk.
What is the Problem?
The magnet slider on the lid can eject and hot contents can spill out, posing injury and burn hazards, according to the recall notice. YETI reported the problem on their product recall website:
“The lid’s MagSlider™ and mug contents can be expelled if the mug is filled with hot liquid, sealed with the lid, and agitated or inverted, which can pose an injury hazard.”
Was Anyone Injured?
No injuries were reported, but YETI said it has received 2 reports of the magnetic sliders ejecting after being sealed with hot liquid.
What Products Were Recalled?
The recall includes all YETI Rambler 20-oz Travel Mugs with Stronghold Lids. They were sold at YETI stores nationwide and online at www.yeti.com during October 2020 for about $35.
The date code is located on the bottom of the travel mug base. The SKU is on the product packaging slip for online orders and the product receipt for in-store purchases.
