June 13, 2025 — More than 1 million Anker Power Banks (Model A1263) were recalled after 19 reports of fires and explosions when the battery overheated.
The recall involves Anker PowerCore 10,000 Power Banks (Model A1263) that were sold nationwide from June 2016 to December 2022 on Amazon, Anker, Newegg and Ebay.
The problem is that the lithium-ion battery inside the power banks can overheat and ignite, catch on fire, or explode and cause burn injuries.
The power banks were linked to 19 reports of fires and explosions, including 11 reports of property damage totaling over $60,700. Two people suffered burn injuries that did not require medical attention.
Anker is urging customers to check their power banks for the recalled model number, which is “A1263.” You can find the Model Number and Serial Number printed on the bottom of the power banks.
Anker is urging customers to immediately stop using the recalled Anker PowerCore Power Banks (Model A1263).
You can check the Serial Number and register for a free replacement power bank at the website: https://www.anker.com/product-recalls.
