Salmonella Food Poisoning

Food that is contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but it can potentially cause food poisoning. The symptoms of an infection can include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating the contaminated product.

Listeria Food Poisoning

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause a serious illness. The symptoms may not appear for up to 70 days. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsions, and sometimes diarrhea or gastrointestinal symptoms. Pregnant women may have only a mild flu-like illness before suffering a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infection of the newborn.
