Angry Orange Stain & Odor Remover Recalled for Risk of Infections

In January 2026, more than 1.5 million bottles of Angry Orange Stain & Odor Remover were recalled due to a risk of bacteria contamination and serious infections.

Did Anyone Get Sick?

No infections or adverse events were reported when the recall was announced for Angry Orange Stain & Odor Remover on January 22, 2026. However, the manufacturer warned about a potential risk of “serious infections that may require medical treatment.”

What Happened?

Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover was recalled because it may contain bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, that can get into the body and cause infections.

Pseudomonas bacteria are found widely in soil and water. Healthy people are not usually at risk, but it can potentially cause serious infection. Pseudomonas can get into the body if it is inhaled, through the eyes, or a break in the skin.

According to the recall:

“People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to Pseudomonas aeruginosa face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment.”

What is Pseudomonas?

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a dangerous bacteria because it is highly resistant to antibiotics.

In recent years, many consumer products have been recalled due to contamination with Pseudomonas. There have also been deadly outbreaks linked to consumer products. For example, in 2023, contaminated eye drops were linked to an outbreak of Pseudomonas that infected 81 people and caused 4 deaths.

Where Were These Products Sold?

The recalled bottles of Angry Orange Stain & Odor Remover were sold nationwide in the U.S. at stores like Walmart, Target, The Home Depot, Meijer, Staples, TJ Maxx, other stores and online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, AngryOrange.com and Chewy.com from March 2019 through December 2025 for $4 to $60.

Angry Orange also announced a recall in Canada for about 43,700 bottles of stain removers. No infections were reported.
