UPDATE: The Royal Ice Cream Company has expanded a recall to include all pints and flavors of Batch Ice Cream.
February 7, 2022 — Royal Ice Cream Company, Inc. has recalled Batch Ice Cream in vanilla, ginger and mocha chip flavors due to a risk of Listeria contamination.
The recalled ice cream was distributed to Market Baskets, Roach Brothers Markets, and Big Y stores in Massachusetts. It was also distributed at Big Y stores in Connecticut.
The products were packaged in 16-oz pints with the Batch Ice Cream brand name and flavors clearly shown on the front.
The Products are coded with the Date of Manufacture as 1/19/22 and Best By: 7/19/23, found on the bottom of the cup. UPC Vanilla – 837654968505 Ginger- 83765496856- Mocha chip 83765496853.
No illnesses were reported. Instead, the recall was issued after FDA inspectors found Listeria monocytogenes bacteria on processing equipment.
